Desktop Engineer/Support Administrator is needed for global manufacturing company located just outside of Philadelphia. The Systems Administrator will be working on a team of 4 & responsible for the support of 6 locations, 20 Windows Servers, & 200+ users.
Must have skills:
- Experience creating a system that can easily image a computer & send it out the end user.
For example:
• KACE
• Altiris
• Viewfinity
• AdminStudio
- Experience doing patch management & software distributions.
For example:
• Patchlink
• LANdesk
- Experience working in a thin client environment.
For example:
• VMware View
• Terminal Server
- Proven ability supporting Windows 2003 server (Windows 2008 is a plus)
- Active Directory and Exchange experience doing support and moves, adds and changes
- VPN: dealing with issues and troubleshooting (General understanding of Cisco Networking)
- Experience working with Symantec backup solutions and robotic libraries
- Experience with constructing & maintaining a corporate standard desktop image via Unattended, SYSPREP, Ghost & other desktop imaging technologies. Created one desktop image to automate Windows XP for deployment on multiple hardware devices.
- Network Distributed Office 2003 Project: Created, deployed, & integrated Office 2003 compressed CD image into the current environment. Slipstreamed SP1, chain installed critical office patches, customized default office settings with custom installation wizard, making the Office install process seamless.
- Utilized VMware Workstation to develop a Virtual Desktop environment.
- Used Imaging technologies to create, customize, & distribute desktop image
- Maintain & administer desktop imaging software & updated corporate image as hardware changes occurred, ensuring no incompatibilities.
- Validate & test all new hardware devices to insure compatibility of desktop image
- Experience with automation procedures such as batch commands & VBScripts
- Follow best practices to slipstream drivers & service packs into Windows XP & Office 2003 packages
