A Boston based niche division of a Global Investment firm here in Boston is looking for a Mid-Sr. Level Java Web Developer ASAP!
This Senior Web Developer will be responsible for the all aspects of developing web sites and web applications. This position will provide expert technical leadership in regards to web site development with emphasis on fully leveraging the Fatwire content management system and Java skills. This individual should have hands-on experience working with Java and J2EE.
Major Responsibilities
• Ability to assume responsibility for the middle and back-end modules of the websites and web applications.
• Familiarity with a change control process and full acceptance of those guidelines
• Introduce preventative measures when resolving production problems
• Strong initiative and commitment to the organization
• Support service level agreements with periodic on call/production support responsibilities
• Team player/self-starter with the ability to analyze tasks, work independently and to drive projects to completion.
Experience/Skills Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), with a minimum of 6 years of software development experience using Java/J2EE/JSP technologies.
• Experience with developing architectural standards with emphasis on code reusability and shared content within content management applications
• Desire to work in a fast paced delivery focused environment.
• Ability to mentor others that are less experienced in various technologies
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to management or team members is essential.
• Experience developing web sites that utilize third party content management platforms (Fatwire)
