  • Sara's Promotion

AWorkbridge Orange County we spent Friday celebrating! Congratulations to Sara Silano who was promoted to Lead Recruiter Thursday evening!

You might remember this post about her just last month where we celebrated her one year anniversary with the company. In just 13 short months, Sara has worked hard building meaningful relationships with everyone she works with and is a great role model for some of our newer recruiters.

We're thrilled to have her on board and so excited to see how she will continue to grow in her new role.

Sara is your go to girl in helping fill or find PHP, Drupal, and Java positions in Orange County.

Make sure to leave a comment and congratulate Sara on her promotion!

  • Philly Code Retreat

Our office was thrilled to be able to help sponsor the latest Philly Code Rereat.

If you're not familiar with Code Retreats, they are a pretty awesome movement. This was the event description on Ticketleap:

"If you’re a programmer/coder/web-maker/hacker passionate about your craft, this is for you. It doesn’t matter what language(s) you use or how long you’ve been coding-- just bring the desire to improve and learn from each other.

Code Retreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, where we focus on the fundamentals of software development and design. Away from the pressures of “getting things done”, we take the time to hone our craft by practicing testing, software design, pair programming as well as trying new things and learning from each other."

    See? Awesome.

After we sponsored the group, Practice Manager Marialice Carter was invited to stop by the event to introduce herself and our office. Marialice had a great time meeting everyone and is looking forward to getting involved in future events!

Thanks to Pam and Mike for organizing such a great event!

  • Welcome the newest recruiters to Orange County

Meet the latest additions for our Workbridge Newport Beach office. Steven Danna, Meredish Busch, and Asma Wahab! They all started last week on our Open Source team run by our fearless leader Brett Sturgill.

We are thrilled to have them on board and are already enjoying the new energy and enthusiasm to the office. Stay tuned for their twitter handles and a more detailed introduction to each of them. In the meantime, feel free to call into the office and say hi to them.

  • Explosion of reviews in Orange County

Evidently our ears should have been ringing! We've been getting some serious attention from our job seekers giving us feedback on how we're doing our job.

We love it here at Workbridge Orange County when we get attention online! It's really important to us to build meaningful relationships and be able to help our job seekers find that perfect new opportunity. We can't tell you how pink in the cheeks we are getting such high praise. There's nothing better than knowing we're helping make a difference in someone's job search.

  • People Helping People in Chicago

Yesterday, Workbridge Chicago volunteered at The Greater Chicago Food Depository where they packaged emergency food kits and sorted and packed fresh bread. They had a blast, and loved working to help people in need!

Here's a shot of the crew before they headed out.

Back Row (from left to right): Alex, Riley, Kristina, Amanda, Zach, Dan, Ryan /Front Row (from left to Right): Kyle, Jessica, Max, Christine, Kevin, Courtney

They headed to the burbs to a HUGE wearhouse and got to work packing the emergency food kits.

Wendy, Group Leader said they were the fastest packers she'd ever seen (a little bit of Workbridge teamwork, for you). They packed over 1120 emergency food kits - that's 1120 lives they'll have saved if disaster strikes!

Recruiter Zach (shown above) did a great job of loading up the pallets.

Recruiter, Riley, and Marketing Specialist, Christine decided to make a little race out of taping boxes.

But we won't embarrass anyone by disclosing the winner.

Look at all those boxes they filled!

They finished the emergency kits so quickly that after a short break, were assigned to packing bread.

A few of our recruiters working hard with new friend, Neil, AKA Bread Master.

Their job was to check the dates on the loaves, search for mold, and neatly box up the good stuff. They ended up packing over 2000lbs of bread!

As you can see, they had a great time and can't wait to volunteer again!

  • Happy Birthday Sara

Here at Workbridge Orange County we're celebrating Sara Silano's birthday! As a backbone to our office, it's only fair that we celebrated with not one, but two sugary treats, cards, and balloons. Sara works hard at placing Open Source Developers here in Orange County as well as San Diego.

She was thrilled with all the treats and a small break from helping job-seekers find new opportunities. Please take a moment to wish Sara a happy birthday!
