.NET Senior Developer / Medical Device

A leading international ophthalmic optics company is looking to add a Software Developer to their digital acceleration team in Downtown Dallas! With over a billion users across the globe, this company designs, assembles, and markets its own lenses to protect and correct eyesight. The ideal candidate has professional experience with .NET, COM, WinForms, .NET WebAPI, and C# in order to create new Windows executables and DLLs, Window services, and WebAPI applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining libraries and multi-tier GUI applications that integrate with on-premise and cloud-based medical practice management systems using a combination of C#, WebAPI, ODBC or other database interface technologies, and SQL Server. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from industry veterans, QA, and customer teams. Required Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience for 5+ years of Microsoft .NET development focused on Windows such as Services, WinForms, and COM
  • Professional experience for 5+ years creating server side applications using .NET, IIS, and WebAPI
  • Professional experience for 5+ years inter-operating with SQL Server as well as reading and writing from databases using ADO.NET
  • Experience for 2+ years writing server side WebAPI code using .NET like C#
  • Experience for 2+ years of querying SQL Server
  • Experience for 1+ years of GIT or another comparable source control management system
  • Experience with SQL / T-SQL, RDBMS concepts and development using relational databases, especially SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of ODBC and ADO
  • Ability to learn new things and work well with others

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Delphi
  • Experience integrating with on premise medical, dental, or eye industry services and databases
  • Strong English communication skills

Daily Responsibilities

  • 90% Hands On, 10% Management Duties
  • 60% Individual Responsibility, 40% Team Collaboration
  • Create, extend, and maintain Windows executables, DLLS, and Windows services using C# and Microsoft .NET
  • Create high quality, multi-threaded C# networking code that can run in the background
  • Write performant database query code using SQL / T – SQL and read & write using ADO.NET and ODBC from C#
  • Create server side data centric applications using C#, .NET, WebAPI, and IIS7+ / .NET core
  • Write C# code that reads and writes a variety of formats including HTTP, XML, and JSON
  • Help convert existing Delphi code to C#
  • Maintain high quality code using proper error handling, comments, core reviews, and occasional pairing
  • Check work for defects prior to releasing to QA
  • Submit pull requests, handle merges, and help facilitate software releases
  • Troubleshoot and own defects identified by the QA and customer teams
  • Work with industry veterans to understand existing code bases and help migrate them from Delphi to .NET
  • Manage work in progress using the agreed upon ticket system

The Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Up to $54/hour, DOE
  • Contract Duration: 6 months – 1 year
